To manage activities within Children?s Services & Lifelong Learning (CS&LL) relating to the development and implementation of identified capital projects/programmes and ensure that the aims, objectives and processes contained therein are aligned with those of CS&LL.
Person Spec
Experience in successfully managing a range of projects/programmes and the capability to demonstrate experience and knowledge of professional project management stages and processes from inception to completion.
Understanding and previous experience of the complete capital funding process and documentation is essential, along with other premises and education related legislation and procedures.
Knowledge of current building and construction procurement procedures and practices for project tendering and formally appointing contractors and consultants.
Knowledge of DCSF and other funding streams available to schools and processes necessary for capital bid submissions.
Knowledge of the impact of design, construction and building maintenance on the delivery of education and improving standards.
Experience of managing complex budgets and undertaking financial/numerical work e.g. statistics, calculations, demonstrating a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
Possess excellent communication skills at both a senior level in both written and oral forms. Ability to analyse complex land and premises issues, summarise core concepts, make reasoned judgements and produce detailed technical/strategic reports that are clear and unequivocal. Ability to use all Microsoft packages and AutoCAD.
Foster a team work approach to involve all staff, consultants and contractors to encourage enhanced performance. Excellent leadership skills as well as the ability to work well as part of a team environment as well as under own initiative and with minimal supervision.

Significant experience in developing and using frameworks
Significant experience in working with diverse groups of stakeholders (schools, diocese, statutory authorities).
Professional qualified to a recognised body i.e. (RICS, RIBA, APM).
